Product Description

Loader tires are designed to bear heavy loads in different working conditions. They are made for rough terrain and heavy-duty use. These tires are put on vehicles that are used in areas such as building infrastructure, public works, mining, construction, scrap yards, etc. Most of the loader tires are used on vehicles that have to carry heavy loads on a job site or over some distance across rough terrain. The tires can last for years without too much wear and tear if used and maintained properly.

Loader tires type

There are three types of loader tires: Bias-Ply, Belted Bias, and Radial. Each of the three has its own set of features and specifications. Moreover, each is suited for particular types of working conditions.

Bias-Ply Tires: Bias-Ply tires have a cross-ply construction that is made of heavy rubber. The construction of the plies is done in a crisscross pattern from one side of the tire to the next. The tread is placed upon this pattern. The ply construction allows the tire to flex more and provide a smoother ride.

Belted Bias Tires: These involve the same construction as the bias-ply tires, but the steel belts are placed below the crisscross patterns. The steel belts are placed at different angles so that the overall performance of the tire improves. It is highly effective at higher speeds and reduces rolling resistance.

Radial Tires: Radial tires are made with heavy steel cords and involve a more complex construction process. The bead goes across the tread at a right angle to the tread’s centerline. The cords are placed parallel to one another. It also has stabilizer belts that are placed below the treads. It improves the tire strength and increases the life of the tire. The disadvantage of this tire is the ride is not as smooth as the other two types of loader tires.

Choosing the right loader tires can be the difference behind heavy equipment under performance or operational excellence. Using the correct type of tires will save your business time and money in the long run. Business owners and/or loader operators should keep their working environment, haulage cycle, etc. in mind when choosing tires. Since it is always a compromise between ride quality and toughness, focus on which factor is more important for the specific type of work for which the tire is being purchased.

Handling and Storage 

Handling: Precisely defined methods must be used when handling tires. Failure to use these methods may cause irreparable damage to tires and may even be dangerous. The bead is a sensitive part of the tire, and if it is damaged during handling operations, this may lead to premature scrapping of the tire. To limit the risks: tires should preferably be handled using the appropriate equipment for this type of work: forklift truck, mechanical loader or crane equipped with a tire handler or textile straps;  lift the tire by the tread.

storage:The rubber used for tires is subject to natural aging. To prevent storage shortening the lifetime of tires, they must be stored under specific conditions and for a limited length of time. Moisture, high temperatures (also significant variations in temperature) and light are all factors that speed up the aging of the rubber. These are increased in areas with high levels of sunlight and/or exposed to frequent storms (presence of ozone).Inner tubes must be stored in their original packaging so that they are not exposed to light. - Flaps must be stored flat on shelves, protected from dust, moisture and grease-based pollution. - O-rings, when supplied with the tires (in sealed plastic bags), must be removed from the tires during storage. Store them away from the light. Protect them from any risk of being crushed or distorted, which could damage the airtightness of the tire when mounting on the rim.
